Yes Right Pty Ltd (ABN 91 664 546 061) runs Epping Air Conditioning as an enquiry and referral website. The person doing it should hold Building and Plumbing Commission registration or a licence in the refrigerated air-conditioning class, or the restricted class that covers single head split systems. A plumbing compliance certificate can only come from a licensed plumber. The Commission’s practitioner search takes a name, a business name or a licence number. If a gas heater is coming out, that part needs a gasfitter, and gasfitters appear on the same register.

Refrigerant, through the ARC. Handling refrigerant requires a licence from the Australian Refrigeration Council. Its Look for the Tick site lists licensed technicians and authorised businesses.

Electrical, through Energy Safe Victoria. Connecting the power is a job for a licensed electrician or a registered electrical contractor, and they must complete a Certificate of Electrical Safety. Both licence types can be looked up on the Energy Safe Victoria register.
